Rise of the Durnskald
The Journal of Sorathin, Herald of Ahz-Radamant Session 75
We had met with my diety. The massive red-black coated snake that appeared before us was no other than Ahz-Radamant. Incredible… even as I sit there, humbled by his presence, I can’t help but want to spar with him. Apparently, it takes a lot of strength to manifest like that though, and I don’t really want a handicap. He told us that Salin would receive a gift from her couatl brothers, a gift from Ahz-Radamant. Salin seemed a bit skeptical, but I was really jealous. In addition, he said that he wanted me to be a herald of his, but under one condition: I must return to life. I can’t possibly turn down a request from his wake, so I said I would need to return after I have been brought back. He said that I should simply try going to sleep tonight, and that I would be returned. Amazing! He’ll have to teach me that trick. Later on, I’m sure he will have some mission for me, but for now I must withdraw from House Eltrus and form a House of my own as homage to his wake, Ahz-Radamant. I’ve heard of temples where people go to learn how to fight and learn discipline. I’ll have to think about this some more though.
Without much ado, we were brought back to the main area and given portal passage to return to the Elemental Kingdom. Some nice water elemental guards even ferried us across the sea from the island we appeared on to get to the capital. I stopped and visited my friend and told him apparently I would be alive soon and that we met my god. We made our way back to the inn in the capital, and I tried to sleep. Luon suddenly woke me in the middle of the night though and said I was burning. Sure enough, the cot that I was resting on had been charred and there was smoke. Luon had a good idea, I should sleep in the fireplace tonight. With permission, I slept there and apparently burned overnight. The next morning, it was difficult to breathe at first. I guess I had forgotten about breathing. It was also a challenge that morning eating, it’s hard to crunch on things but I’ll have to get used to it. We reported to the ARC about our adventure, including the part about the Naga safeguarding the temples themselves – there’s no need for the ARC to visit these locations in the near future. Soon, we will begin our airship ride back to the mainland – I wonder what’s happening in Pergisursia?
