Rise of the Durnskald
The Journal of Sorathin (The Green Knight) Session 51
We had arrived at another lost ruin dedicated to some old lizardfolk, long since deceased. We entered the main room cautiously for fear of some trap that may befall us. In the center, a very tall stone statue of a lizardfolk was erected with sword and shield in hand. He looked pretty cool, so I walked up to study him for a while. There was a lot of ash on the floor in this room, so it was a bit dirty, but I didn’t mind. Some of the others went to the other end of the room and started opening the door, which I guess made the statue angry. He started breathing fire on the others, which was totally awesome although I’m guessing also painful. We fought it and a couple small demon looking things came out of its feet. Whenever we hit them, they would resonate and reflect some damage back to all of us. Quite a nuisance, but we eventually dealt with all of them. Krellem used an awesome black fire ray which put a hole through one of the demons. I wish I could do stuff like that, Krellem’s god is an awesome god.
We proceeded through the ruins to find the remains of what was likely a king and his throne/treasure. We took the treasure but left the throne and skeleton alone (it wouldn’t be good to disturb his rest). After that, we retraced our steps to a room where acid sprayed on Thoragen, causing him to look worse than me. After he took a potion to fix that, we moved down a very long corridor. Suddenly, a large boulder came rolling down behind us to crush us I assume. We ran down the corridor to escape, rounding a corner in time. I can’t help but think this trap has been used in other lost ruins, so I’m surprised we missed it.
