The Journal of Sorathin (The Green Knight) Session 53

At some point, we decided it would be wise to remove the staff from the pedestal it currently resides in. I think there were probably better routes that we could have approached this, in hindsight of course. The corpses of the ancient lizardfolk rose from the piles of bones, and mercilessly assaulted us. Through sheer force of will and a demonstration of strength and survivability, we were able to hold our own against the horde of them. I shudder to think about how this would have gone if we were in a more open area. After putting the creatures to rest (again) we decide to experiment with the staff which we had drawn from the pedestal.

It appears as though the staff might have some control over the corpses. After we reinserted and locked the staff into place, the skeletons that we had mangled and destroyed were reformed. We withdrew the staff once more, and realized we could usher them commands while holding the staff. Curiously, Thoragen noted that while the staff was withdrawn, the passageway to the other lizardfolk tomb was sealed away. There is much more to this lizardfolk warrior grave than originally anticipated.
