Campaign of the Month: February 2016
Rise of the Durnskald
The Journal of Sorathin (The Green Knight) Session 54
Investigation ensued. We came to realize that the staff’s power, restored by the pedestal, can be harnessed to command the undead. Dialog and debate ensued. We came to the conclusion that it was necessary to somehow seal this magical gate so that if discovered by the demons, they could not invade our world. Krellem made a call to his order for reinforcements to guard this gate. I decided to smash those evil guy statues in the basement in the other room. I suppose I was discontented by the fact that we would sit idly for a week while the help came. Luon went outside on the first day. Getting some air seemed like a good idea, so I decided to join her when she went on the second day. The large kitties watched us, and after a period of time they crept closer. It seemed as though they were paying the most attention to me for some reason. After some time, the smaller cats also came out. Playing with them was very fun, although a bit painful. Some time later the reinforcements arrived to our relief.
A group of elves answered the call, members of my house, in addition to a group of fully plated knights from House Burcia. The cats would not let them enter the temple, and were more concerned the closer the group approached. At some point in time, while the druids of house Eltrus were communicating with the cats, the leader of the knights from House Burcia was placed underneath the mother cat’s claw. Krellem interrogated this man, who thought it wise to fight the creature. Despite these hostilities, the mother cat eventually decided to let both the leader of the knights and the leader from my house in. Speaking of which, the leader from house eltrus was the druid that attacked us in the darklands. Strange then, why is he interested in discovering the truth behind The Barrier of Souls?
We led them inside, and Krellem gave them the grand tour, including the trapped room. The druid, although a bit tempermental, agreed and saw the weight of our findings here. Meanwhile, a shriek sounded in the corridor, followed quickly by silence. We explored the staff room and found at the pedestal base resting a shriveled and aged knight, the leader of the ones from House Burcia. I had a theory at that point… perhaps the staff and cats refuse those with bad intentions? Perhaps we will never know. We sealed the magic gate to the darklands, and commanded the skeletons to guard the hall before we left. This was a very curious, amazing expedition. I wonder what we may find next.
