Campaign of the Month: February 2016
Rise of the Durnskald
The Journal of Sorathin (The Green Knight) Session 74
We begun our retreat from the YuanTi’s lair, after surveying the top of the mountain. The sight of hundreds of these powerful creatures from our vantage point made us realize how futile any future efforts against them are. We made off with a brisk pace, when suddenly I was able to pick up on snakes appearing all around us. I realized they had surrounded us, so we broke into a run. Eventually, we came across a group of naga, and Salin called out to them for succor. They led us away towards a sanctuary of theirs, while some of them held the YuanTi at bay. With a narrow escape, we were escorted deeper into their burrow, which had a portal to the main burrow.
Inside the main burrow, we were treated well enough. The naga said we could meet Salin’s grandfather here, so we all felt very welcome. Cara decided to throw one of her parties, so they brought out some mushrooms and ale. Apparently, the mushrooms have effects on regular people, whereas the naga are used to them, so Salin started to act strangely. She eventually asked to see the mushroom book. Not getting the answers she was looking for, she consulted Argle’s journal and mysteriously could read it. Translating the book, we discovered that Argle was clearly investigating the barrier of Souls, and actually had a run-in with No. Before retiring, they led us to Salin’s grandfather, whom we actually found out was an avatar of Ahz’Radamant, the diety I’ve wanted to meet. Hopefully, this proves to be a friendly get together.
