Campaign of the Month: February 2016
Rise of the Durnskald
Luon's Journal - Session 94
I gave Thoragen the money he needed to get my new belt started. Something to keep him busy while we work on trying to solve his murder, I guess. We decided to go to see Madame Mothwing to see if we could get any information on who was behind his murder. She confirmed for us that the attack on Thoragen was the calling card of Agrijag, a black scaled lizard-folk assassin. Very bad news and not well liked, even in the assassins guild. She said we should start with Red Fox if we wanted to find Agrijag. She offered to look into it for us, but the price was to find a way to eliminate a rival brothel. I told her we’d think about it.
On the way to Madame Mothwing, Sirathen was hit by a poison crossbow bolt. Luckily for us he is apparently immune to poison. He tried to chase down the shooter, but didn’t find him. He did recover the assassin’s crossbow. On the way back, we were tailed by what looked like kids. We ducked into an alley and when they followed, we confronted them. They said that Red Fox sent them to tell us we were in danger. They then took off. Also in the alley, we encountered Old Iron Eye from the ARC. He told us that those were not kids, but elven assassins in disguise. He also told us he was in service to the palace as an agent inside House Dresden, and that he would investigate Thoragen’s murder for us. I wish we had thought of that sooner.
When we arrived at the palace, I sent a messenger to Madame Mothwing to thank her for her time and to inform her we were pursuing other avenues. All in all, that means all of us have contracts on our heads. We decided that all of us should stay in the palace.
